The Q10 S5 Plus and Q7 M5 share the same basic hardware. Both run on
10,000 Pa of suction, use PreciSense LiDAR mapping, and offer
multi-floor maps, zone cleaning, and digital virtual walls. Body height
is 9.9 cm and threshold clearance is 20 mm on both. The real
difference is on the maintenance side. The Q10 S5 Plus comes with a
2.7-liter bagged auto-empty dock and can lift its mop automatically. The
Q7 M5 has neither feature, so its dustbin is emptied by hand, though it
carries a larger one in exchange (400 ml versus the Q10’s
350 ml). The Q10 also adds a camera-based obstacle detection system
(ReactiveTech), while the Q7 relies on LiDAR alone. Runtime differs too:
the Q10 cleans for 250 minutes on a charge against the Q7’s
180 minutes. The Q7 does have a slightly larger water tank
(270 ml versus 200 ml), though both are filled by hand since
neither has automatic water refilling.
In short, both carry the same suction and mapping hardware. What sets
the Q10 S5 Plus apart is the self-emptying dock, automatic mop lifting,
and camera-based obstacle detection it adds on top, cutting down on
hands-on maintenance, plus a longer runtime per charge. If you
don’t want to deal with emptying a dustbin, the Q10 S5 Plus is the
sensible pick. If budget comes first and you don’t mind emptying
the bin yourself, the Q7 M5 offers the same cleaning power in a simpler,
likely cheaper package.
